OUR ENSEMBLES
Golden Valley Vocal Arts consists of four ensembles of varying levels. Look below to read a little more about what each choir is all about.
Inclusive Choral Ensemble welcomes people of all abilities and backgrounds. This ensemble helps students feel connected and build a sense of community through music. Inclusive Choral Ensemble pairs students of mixed singing abilities together to create an environment of both social and music support. No prior singing or music knowledge is required to join this class.
Students in this course are featured in the Winter and Spring Concerts.
This is an open enrollment class and all students are welcome.
There is no audition for this course. This choir does not have any recommended donations.

ADVANCED
CONCERT CHOIR
Concert Choir is a choir for all students. No prior singing or music knowledge is required to join this class. This class combines music theory, music history, and music performance all into one. This is the perfect class for beginner singers. All students are required to perform in the Winter and Spring Concerts as part of their final grade. This is an open enrollment class and all students are welcome. There is no audition for this course. This choir does not have any recommended donations.
Advanced Concert Choir is an audition based ensemble. Prior singing experience is expected, as well as a basic understanding of music theory. The Advanced Concert Choir performs at small events for school, such as football games, Back to School Night, and Open House, as well as the Hart District Choir Festival in the Spring. The Advanced Concert Choir performs in both the Winter and Spring concerts.
This choir does have recommended donations.
SHOW CHOIR
To be a part of our competitive Show Choir you need to audition each semester and pass a singing, dancing, and music theory test. This choir combines singing and dancing at the same time! The first semester focuses on small performances for Golden Valley, which includes the December Winter Concert. The second semester is our competition season, where we travel and compete at various schools throughout Southern California. All students are required to perform in the Winter, Pop Jazz and Spring Concerts as part of their final grade. This choir does have fees, much like a sport, and counts for P.E. credit.
JAZZ CHOIR
Jazz Choir is Vocal Art’s newest ensemble. Just like Show Choir, it is an advanced choir that requires both a singing audition and music theory test. However, it is not a dancing choir. This ensemble is the Vocal Art’s gigging choir that performs at concerts, festivals, and other school and district events that happen throughout the year. Jazz Choir is accompanied by our Grizzly Jazz Band at certain performances and events. All students are required to perform in the Winter, Pop Jazz and Spring Concerts as part of their final grade.
